Purple Rain

Happy Friday eve!!! As one of my co-workers always says on Thrusday. Today is my "Thrift" day and it begins with the purple knit dress I paid a $1 for during the 5 for $5 weekend specials at The Salvation Army thrift store.
And along with that I got the long oatmeal sweater $3 (I think because it wasn't apart of the 5 for $5) and I just got the Steve Weiszerman gladiator heels from a Chicago Sal Val thrift store $35.
The three layer neck pearls were $3 at the jewelry counter. You would be surprised with the goodies they have up there. It's like a treasure chest!!!!!!

As for the black leaf print fishnets, I got those from a company called "Fishnet Frenzy ". I believe they are on all the social media sites.

Oh and the make up is ELF!!! I love them😍. Have a good Thrusday and let's discuss Scandal tomorrow #teamOilivia #gladiator #whitehat

Trying something new

Today is #tryittuesday, try something new and own it & that's exactly what i did!!!  I have always admired people like Erykah Badu and Indie Arie with their headwraps and so today was my turn to try it out. I went on YouTube and watched a couple videos on how to do head wraps but this one spoke to me http://youtu.be/q1fR7ZXUAZA

As for the dress, I made it from an old pattern I got from the thrift store. It was pennies on the dollar but as you know I have gotten more than a dollars worth out of it. I must have made about 10 dresses in this style.

The fabric is from my new found gem "Michael Levivine" in LA. But not the big store, it's the store across the street where the remnants are sold for $2.50 a pound. "Say what"!!!!! I can hear you saying. Yes, child I got over 200 pounds of fabric in an array of colors, prints, weights and textures. The denim jacket is thrifted, the necklace is from a yard sale and my faux suede wedges with ankle strap were from Forever 21.

It was fun to show my neubian Goddess style, I hope you like.

April 24, 2015

It's Friday and I'm so glad. I decided to try something new, mixing casual and classy. I thrifted the clothes from numerous Salvation Army family thrift stores all around the metro Detroit area: denim boyfriend jeans, sequin jacket. I paid 75cent for the jacket (I couldn't believe it either). The jeans are not necessarily boyfriend Jeans
but rather men Holister size 36. I cropped the bottom and distressed them myself (there is more than one way to skin a cat!!!😜). As for the leopard shoes I got from Love Culture. Michael Kors purse and bracelet was a find on online. For the local people who remember Gantos at Eastland Mall that is where I bought the black leather swing coat. Well, that's today's outfit have a safe and blessed weekend!!!
