DIY: Tank and Tie Dye

I took two men size medium shirts and sewed them together at the top of each shoulder and the neckline. I did this because the shirts are so thin.
Next, I took the 3rd shirt and cut it across horizontal from underarm to under arm. The top portion I kept, with the idea of doing something with it later. Not sure what, but I will come up with something. Now with that bottom portion I sewed it to the bottom hem of the double shirt this is the extend the length.

Now that is the dress.

The tie dye was easy. Using the bottle tie dye of liquid Rit dye I used the colors of the rainbow. For us teachers we know that's ROY G BIV- red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet.

Using rubber bands, I gathered the dress from the top to bottom placing the bands about 3 inches apart. Then I squeezed the dye between the placement of rubber bands. While it laid in the bathtub.

Leaving it there over night. Then in the morning I cut off the bands and let it lay flat and completely dry. Once it dried, I washed it and hung it to dry again. And there you go.
The denim jacket is thrifted and the body chain, I sale and the made the purse  (both if interested, inbox me for purchase details)
